& Inositol
DESCRIPTION Choline and inositol, members of the B-complex, are both found inside our bodies’ cell walls. Choline increases the production of lecithin which in turn breaks down fats. Inositol plays a part in the response of the nerve impulses. Inositol is found in large amounts in semen and men’s reproductive organs. Inositol is not a true vitamin because our bodies can make a small amount of it. BENEFITS Inositol prevents eczema. Inositol has been shown to reduce irritability and stress levels. Choline helps to control cholesterol. DEFICIENCY SYMPTOMS Senile dementia Eczema High blood pressure Nervousness Reduced immune system – picking up every cold and cough that is going around Requirement (RNI) It is recommended that, somewhere in the region of 500-1,000mg of both choline and inositol is taken in on a daily basis. BEST FOOD SOURCES
WHO MAY NEED TO SUPPLEMENT People with eczema People suffering from stress and tension People with high cholesterol or hardening arteries THERAPEUTIC USES Choline improves our resistance to disease.
